New windows and doors are a big expense at once. Manitoba Hydro’s Home Energy Efficiency Loan lets you spread it out and pay it back on your energy bill. We help you fill in the application.
How the loan works
- Up to $7,500 for windows and doors (part of a $12,500 limit per home for all eligible upgrades).
- 6.20% interest (O.A.C.), up to 5 years for windows and doors, as of October 2026.
- Monthly payments are added to your energy bill. You can pay extra or pay it off any time; a $20 admin fee applies only if you pay it off within the first 6 months.
- No down payment unless your project costs more than the loan maximum.
- Manitoba Hydro pays us directly once the work is done and you sign the completion certificate.
Example: $7,500 over 5 years at 6.2% works out to about $146 a month (about $1,240 in interest over the 5 years). Manitoba Hydro’s exact numbers may differ slightly.
Who qualifies
- You own the home and have an active Manitoba Hydro account, and you are approved for credit.
- The home is your primary residence (or your tenant’s) and is a detached or semi-detached house. Seasonal homes, unoccupied homes and apartment buildings are not eligible.
- Windows must be ENERGY STAR certified and triple-pane. All the windows we sell meet this.
- Doors must be ENERGY STAR certified; glass and sliding doors need at least triple-pane glass. Storm doors only qualify when financed together with a qualifying entry door.
How to apply with us
- Free in-home estimate. We measure, quote and tell you which windows and doors qualify.
- We help you fill in the application for Manitoba Hydro.
- Wait for approval. Manitoba Hydro must approve the loan before we order anything or start work.
- We install, you sign the completion certificate, and payments start on your energy bill.
Add the rebate on top
Financing through Manitoba Hydro doesn’t stop you claiming the Efficiency Manitoba rebate of $100 per triple-pane window (up to 20 windows). We also offer a volume discount when you quote the whole house.
Outside Winnipeg?
The loan is available to Manitoba Hydro customers across the province. We install in towns around Winnipeg too, including East St. Paul, Stonewall, Niverville and Headingley.
