Replacing old windows in Manitoba? Efficiency Manitoba pays you back $100 for every eligible window — up to 20 openings, or $2,000 per home. Eligible entry doors and sliding glass doors count too. All the windows we sell are ENERGY STAR certified and triple-pane, so they meet the product rules. Here is how the rebate works in 2026 and how to claim it.
How much is the rebate?
- $100 per opening for each eligible window, entry door or sliding glass door you replace.
- Up to 20 openings per home, so up to $2,000. A window with several sections in one opening, like a bay or bow window, counts as one.
- Income-qualified households may get more through Efficiency Manitoba’s assistance programs — check with Efficiency Manitoba if that could apply to you.
Example: replace 12 old windows with triple-pane units and you get $1,200 back.
What qualifies
- ENERGY STAR certified, triple-pane windows. Double-pane windows do not qualify.
- A replacement of an existing window or door between a heated space and the outdoors. New or enlarged openings do not qualify, and each opening can get the rebate only once.
- Your primary residence (or your tenant’s), lived in all year: a detached or semi-detached house, or a mobile or modular home on a permanent foundation. Apartments and other multi-unit buildings, unoccupied homes, vacation rentals, outbuildings, cottages and seasonal homes do not qualify.
- You own the home and have an active Manitoba Hydro account.
- Doors with triple-pane glass. ENERGY STAR entry doors and sliding glass doors qualify too, if their glass is triple-pane (an entry door with no glass just has to be ENERGY STAR certified). The Novatech 550 sliding patio door we install qualifies with triple glazing. Storm doors aren’t on the list, but you can include them, with an entry door, in Manitoba Hydro financing.
How to apply
- Get your new windows installed. We install all year, including winter.
- Keep your invoice. Efficiency Manitoba needs it to show payment in full, the supplier, and each window’s description, size, NRCan reference number and product price. Our invoices list all of this for you.
- Leave the ENERGY STAR labels on the glass until the rebate is paid. Efficiency Manitoba may ask for photos.
- Apply online with Efficiency Manitoba within 90 days of installation and payment in full. Late applications are not accepted, so don’t wait.
Can I use the rebate with financing?
Yes. The rebate is separate from Manitoba Hydro’s Home Energy Efficiency Loan, which lets you pay for windows and doors on your energy bill. You can finance the project and still claim the rebate.
Where it applies
The rebate is province-wide. Besides Winnipeg, we install in towns around the city, including Selkirk, Oakbank, Steinbach and Beausejour.
